Just before Christmas I was asked to film and photograph a progressive family dinner. Admittedly I did not know what that was. But as soon as Jenny told me, I knew it was going to be a blast to document. And it was, but whew, it was also a challenge. 4 houses, 4 meals, in 4 hours. Did I mention there were 23 people, from one of the most amazingly blended, adoptive families I've ever met. Anytime I get to hang out with this crew is an honor. I'm so thankful they asked me along to document and share in this special time so close to Christmas.

When you have a chance to photograph the birth of a couple you have been friends with for over 11 years, well, it's something special. I was there for the birth of their twins 3 years ago, but due to the circumstances and their gestational age of only 32 weeks, I wasn't allowed in the OR with them. So to be able to be there this time, to not only photograph, but also video this precious miracle's entrance was such a blessing!
Natalie and Jonathan, you both are such wonderful parents, and with the Lord's love and guidance you are raising 3 AMAZING kiddos!
It has been an honor being your friend all these years and watching the Lord move in your lives in such beautiful ways!
Just a snippet from one of our afternoons. Messes are encouraged and clothing is optional. I truly hope they will remain the best of friends. I often have to remind her she's not his mommy, and she sheepishly replies, "I forget I'm not his mommy sometimes". If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she will usually reply, a super hero mommy. Honestly, some days I wish I had super powers of my own. And Alden is a dynamic package of dichotomies. He is the most loving, gentle, adoring, wrecking ball, firecracker of an impatient mess I've ever laid eyes on. And I wouldn't change a hair on his curly head. He thinks she hung the moon, and follows her like a shadow, mimicking her every move.
Thank you Jesus for these two blessings that call me momma. Thank you for the responsibility of moulding them into decent human beings. It's not easy. And I fail miserably some days. But Lord I pray that days like these will outweigh the others.
Fierce. Determined. Stunning. All describe Reagan during her labor and well into her journey of Motherhood. She was, and is surrounded by strong women cheering her on every step of the way. Some of my favorite shots from this birth are the moments shared between her and her sister and mother. Reagan I am so unbelievably proud of you. How you handled labor, the grueling days that immediately followed, and now watching you rock at Motherhood. Thank you for letting me be there to love on you, support you, and bear witness to you becoming a mom. Nellie is precious and she's so blessed to call you hers!
