So you know how some women defy all understanding of beauty, well this momma takes the cake. Not only did she successfully navigate a natural birth, in a hospital (St. Francis’ Women’s Hospital), with a birthing tub (only for the laboring portion), while listening to Hypnobabies, and come out the other side still looking like a million bucks. Her classic beauty and grace reminded me of a Renaissance masterpiece. She trusted her body, she trusted her support system, and I’ve never seen a woman control her birth and her body quite like she did. It was truly something to behold. I am beyond proud of her, and so grateful to have been present to witness this kind of calm, controlled, and serene natural birth.
And continued respect and admiration for the midwives at Trinity Center here in Columbus, GA. Every time I have had the honor of sharing the room for a birth they were overseeing, they treat each and every one of their clients as if they are the only one, and the most important one.
I guess what I’m saying is, women rock. Ladies, God made us to do amazing things.
