Life is funny sometimes. I wasn’t supposed to be Jess and Joey’s birth photographer. But as life would have it, I was called in to help a friend, and ended up making a new friend. Jess had a quick and powerful birth. I was in awe of her control and strength as she labored naturally. Things picked up quickly as soon as she got into the labor tub. Her water broke within minutes, we could barely get her back to the bed before sweet River Faye came earth-side. While I didn’t have months to get to know her like my usual clients, in those few short hours we more than made up for that lost time. It just solidified how each of my clients and their husbands, babies, all become like family.
Jess and Joey, thank you for welcoming this stranger into your most sacred birthing space. It was an honor to watch your journey!
